Posted: Nov 2, 2006 09:11:55 I have a question about hooking up the converter to the computer. When using the converter, do I need to connect power to both the converter and the hard drive? I've tried it both ways and the computer still doesn't recognize the drive. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

I've tried different jumper settings and still won't work. Does it matter what SATA port on the MB it's connected to (mine is in SATA3)? Also, the hard drive doesn't show up in the BIOS. Could the converter or SATA cable be faulty? I can feel the hard drive spinning so I know it's at least getting power. Thanks again! |

Posted: Nov 2, 2006 11:34:23 http://tekgems.com/Products/la-usde07.htm It could be either the converter or cable. It also can be an incompatibility with your hard drive, especially if its very old (small GB size), or very new. There is a Taiwanese branded item which has less issues with compatibility based on return rates: http://tekgems.com/Products/tg-et-7550-ccd-st-101l.htm |
