Hello.
I bough this new IDE to SATA converter ST-101L (product number 5661) from your site to make my old IDE IBM Deskstar 60gb work on SATA interface on my Gigabyte GA-K8NSXP-939 with latest bios. And now I have problems.
I have DVD and DVD writer running separately on IDE channels. I run Windows XP Pro service pack 2. Now, all 3 devices are detected in bios, no problem there. However, with this new setup it freezes just before image of windows come up. Once in 30 times after waiting for about 30 seconds image would come and it would load and I'd be running all my applications with no problems. However this 30 seconds delay wasnt there before. But the rest of the times it would just sit there with black screen forever. And if I try to put converter on any DVD they would be detected in bios but in windows they would be simply missing every time...
How can I resolve this?
Thank you.

You are not the first to mention difficulties with the ST-101L. You can try alternative products and see if those products work better for your system:

Serial ATA to IDE Converter Adapter (SATA)
http://tekgems.com/Products/MJ-SATA-ADP-IDE.htm

Serial-ATA to ATA/ATAPI IDE Interface Adapter
http://tekgems.com/Products/et-14011-ada-sil3611.htm

These products are currently in stock as of 10 May 2005.
