Posted: Sep 6, 2006 12:56:52 I've been using SanDisk card readers in order to edit my digital images. I'm not thrilled with them and have had lots of problems with them. Can anyone could recommend a better one to use than SanDisk? Thanks!!! |

Posted: Sep 6, 2006 14:03:56 Hi, are you looking for an internal or external card reader? And what format card do you use? Here are some choices: http://tekgems.com/Products/cat-digital-camera-accessories-memory-card -adapters-readers.htm I would say edit your images on your computer by first downloading the images to your computer from the card reader. I've never used SanDisk readers before but I would think they are of good to excellent quality? The new and free Picasa BETA <http://picasa.google.com/> has a nice feature where it will detect images from your card reader automatically and import into the software. From there, you can straighten, crop, autocorrect, and export it out to a folder. If you have a Gmail account, you can also easily upload your pictures to a web album (250MB of space for free). |

Posted: Sep 6, 2006 17:38:44 Hi, I've been using an external card reader. The ports on my hard drive are in the back, so I can't just plug in my camera to upload images. I usually edit using Photoshop and then save my images in a folder on my hard drive for use in eBay auctions. I know I can download the images from the reader to my computer. Would that be a temp file? I'm not sure how that would work. I've been using Photobucket to host my images. I'll take a look at Picasa! If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to let me know. Thanks! |

Posted: Sep 22, 2006 09:22:44 Just wanted to let you know that I'm now using Picasa...it's great! I've also discovered that I can insert my cards into my HP printer/scanner/copier/fax and Picasa enables me to transfer the images into a file I created on my computer. Picasa also deletes the images after transfer, and then I can just edit the images in Adobe. I recommend Picasa! |
