Hi Lori, what you need for the MWK-122BK is a WebTV Plus Keyboard (SWK-8640). We do carry this model from time to time. Unfortunately, we are out of stock.

Hello, This keyboard will work with a Sony webtv plus unit won't it?
Thanks Ione Wilson

Posted: Jan 4, 2003 03:13:14

Hi iwilson, yes it works with Sony WebTV Plus. I have had no complaints thus far. Thanks.

Re your WebTV keyboards. Can you tell me
their length and width?
Is their connection type PS-2?
Any guarantee?
Are the Querty keys and the number keys across the top standard size: The
tops of these keys on muy current board measure 1/2" x 9/16"
Why are they called Web TV keyboards?
I've a pretty standard computer system, running XP. (It's not WebTV) Will these keyboards work for me?

Hi, I think this is what you want. The keyboard is about half the size of a standard 104-key PS/2 keyboard. Thanks.

Hey, it does look like what I want!!
One question; does it have a DELETE key?

Posted: Jan 4, 2003 03:18:13

yes, it is in the upper right corner.

Posted: Mar 15, 2003 14:18:10

Can I use this keyboard on my philip webtv unit?

Posted: Mar 15, 2003 14:19:43

hi rosemarie, are you referring to this product? http://tekgems.com/Products/webtv-keyboard-swk-8630.htm

We've had reports that this keyboard has some compatibility issues with the WebTV Plus products. For WebTV Classic this keyboard is fine. If you have a WebTV Plus, you want a WebTV Plus keyboard which is model SWK-8640

Thanks.

Is the webtv wireless keyboard (model #SWK-8640) compatible with my IBM Aptive home PC?

Posted: Apr 1, 2003 11:04:09

Hi, no I don't believe so.

Posted: Sep 27, 2003 07:06:44

How can I upgrade my WebTV using a standard PS/2 keyboard?

Posted: Sep 27, 2003 07:11:32

I just posted above. Now I registered.

Posted: Sep 27, 2003 16:58:53

Hi, if you can get a wireless keyboard receiver, that would make your WebTV keyboard upgradeable:

Hi....I recently purchased a keyboard that is supposed to be exactly the same as an SWK 8640. My friend has Webtv plus. The seller gave a list of codes that go by brand of tv to program the keyboard into her webtv box...but the codes don't work...Are there compatibility issues ? I am not sure who made this keyboard..think it is either dishnetwork or Sony..but it is supposed to be 'universal'..apprarently it is not...can anyone help me.

Posted: Jan 22, 2004 22:15:33

If you look at the back side of the keyboard, there is a model number. Can you reply with the model number?

Posted: Jan 22, 2004 22:19:21

To clarifyi on the post about the SWK 8640...let me further state that my friend has a 4 year old 19 inch Sanyo TV and her webtv plus is Phillips-Magnavox Plus.

Posted: Jan 22, 2004 22:20:55

I will ask her for the model number...just a moment.

Posted: Jan 22, 2004 22:25:15

The model number on the back of this SWK8640 compatible keyboard is:

RT7W5XTW B

Posted: Jan 22, 2004 22:39:56

Yes, that is a compatible WebTV Plus keyboard. As with any "universal" remote, some codes may not work on all television sets. Here is the documentation that was provided to us for the keyboard you mentioned. These are badged as webtv brand. The model number without the B at the end if RCA badged. Anyway, here is the documentation:

my friend tried the codes you just supplied...to no avail...it may be hers is one of the tv's that don't work on it..thank you very much for your reply...

Best way to test the keyboard is to try a new set of codes on a different television. If the WebTV Plus keyboard can control that television, then it is an incompatibility between the keyboard and your friend's TV. If the codes do not work on the other television set, it may be the keyboard, or again an incompatibility. If you can isolate where you think the issue is arising from, it will help you troubleshoot better.

Two other factors to consider:
1) Fresh batteries in keyboard
2) Ambient "noise" like blinking lights or interference from appliances can cause issues with the infrared transmission from keyboard to receiver. I had one customer's WebTV unit go crazy because he had some flashing Christmas lights in the room. ;)

hello I need your help

Posted: Jul 30, 2005 18:23:58

Hello, My question is for the purchase of a Phillips Magnavox MAT-976A1 Webtv PLUS unit. (My SonyINT-250 modem blew from a severe thunder storm, even tho' my TV & unit were shut OFF...but it lasted 8 yrs-no problems.) I became reliant on the PIP feature and I have been trying to find a retail store that I can order from in New Jersey. I do not want to use ebay or Amazon--I need the manufacturer's/retail store/ directly info--it has to be shipped through a 3rd party Furniture & Appliance store where I have a cash account. They do not know where to call to order this product, for it to be sent and paid for through the store's accounting. I have been going surf-crazy trying to locate a NJ store and have called some local stores, i.e., BestBuy, CircuitCity, etc. Please help me get my PIP back again.Thank you for taking time out to read and address my question. choc'alit

Can anyone help me with this problem?I have a Sejin Freeboard(model SWK-8640) WebTV keyboard that operates my Sony New Classic WebTV unit, but it will not operate my Panasonic CT-27E136 27" TV. I have tried every code I have found including the TV codes at this forum. The Freeboard operates a 25"Samsung TV and a 27"RCA TV. Are there any other codes for this Panasonic model?PG

Posted: Aug 20, 2005 00:41:58

Hi, the code sets for the Panasonic above are correct. All the different manuals from Sony, RCA, Maganavox, etc all have the same code sets for the various TV manufacturers. Remember that you need to hold the CODE SET down while you are pressing the three digits. Then press RETURN.

I hope someone can help me.

I have a 38 inch ProScan, the model No. is, PS36127, which I bought around 1996. I'm having a problem with the PIP. When it comes up, all I get is a 4 by 3 color dotted screen then it turns white and then black. Is it something simple or do I have to higher a repair man. I'm fairly handy, I did fix TVs when I was a kid, back in the '60s and late '70s, tracing down bad resistors and soldering new ones on. So I do understand the basics and if all I have to do, is read a schematicex and changeout a board I can do that. I am hoping that all it is, is something simple in my menu that I shut off accidentally and I can't find it now to fix it.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you

I'm sorry, it is a 36" TV...
