If you press Control-Alt-Delete, a Task manager should appear. Ending all the programs except for Explorer. Then try the install again. Often times, installations hang because you are running a program in the background that is conflicting with the installation. |

Posted: Apr 3, 2003 15:37:12 I was having problems with the installation also. I downloaded the drivers listed in one of the messages above and also did the "strip-down" of running applications (Win 98) and got it to install. I am now on the hunt for a way to make it work in PhotoShop 6 using the barrel button. It will probably boil down to a reg hack. I have discovered a klugy work-around in the meantime. Start the line with your mouse and keep holding down the mouse clicker then put the pen to the tablet and start drawing. After I finish getting everything straight in Windows 98 I will start in on XP. (I have a dual-boot system) |

Posted: May 5, 2003 18:09:54 This is the 2nd JamStudio that I picked up for a customer to try and when I plug it into my USB hub to try it, it locks up the keyboard (also USB) so I cannot even try it. Anyone know a workaround for this? |

Posted: May 5, 2003 18:36:48 OK..got it to plug in by installing a USB port. Now I need to know how to select the tablet rather than the mouse to draw with. Sorry I am so dumb on this drawing stuff but this is for a good client of mine and I will have to deal with him after I get it setup... |

Go to ( http://tekgems.com/dl/index.php?dir=.%2Finput-devices ) and download {jamstudio-tablet-win95-98-me-2000-xp} .Then extract the files to a folder on your C drive. Then click on {KBJAM } and extract files to the same folder.Plug in your tablet. Now go to controll panel and click on system/hardware/device manager. look for HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICES . Then click on update drivers and locate the folder where you extracted the windows xp drivers. After you installed the new drivers there will be a new jam icon in your control panel.I got my pen working with all the famous photo editing software.Photoshop, ulead photoimpact, corel draw, ect. It gets getting used to |
