Posted: Aug 25, 2005 15:00:18 Hi DEW - the 4-pin power plug is to receive power to spin the fan from the power supply. The 3-pin is power is used to detect rotations per minute (RPM). You can use just the 4-pin if you want but many case modders like the ability to measure RPM for ambient noise testing. |
