Posted: Oct 20, 2006 13:58:18 My Sold said upon updating today that my yearly subscription has expired. Has anyone else's? I'm just wondering if tomorrow it won't open or what! Please let me know! |

Posted: Oct 20, 2006 15:12:24 I'm not sure what will happen for yours. Mine ran out in May a few weeks before the supposed server crash. I renewed when I received the notice. In August when it was apparent that he wasn't going to be supporting Sold anymore I went back and checked my credit card info to see if I could file a charge back. He never charged it. |

Posted: Oct 21, 2006 12:35:15 Am I reading correctly that you think that your SOLD program my not open because your subscription ran out I would not worry about it at this point I think it will open however you will not get any more updates Just like the rest of us anyway because Timbercreek is no more. I still cannot believe it :-( |

Posted: Oct 22, 2006 08:59:47 Well it did open just fine, luckily. As for the updates, like I said I paid yearly and have for over 6 years now. Half of this last paid subscription there has been NO updates and NO support. Quite frankly, I'm more than just a little ticked at the fact that I didn't get what I paid for and that none of us received one speck of notice prior to being dumped. |

Posted: Oct 22, 2006 09:39:49 Yes it is a shame From what I read an e-mail was sent out stating that Timbercreek was to be no more. But I did not get that e-mail either. I only found out about the demise when the program started acting up and not picking up the bidders. I did get an answer however from the help desk ticket that I created. So there is someone alive and kicking on Timbercreeks Domain. I just wonder what the reason for not continuing with the software. That I do believe we as subscribers are owed. If it was not profitable I understand, If you cannot turn a profit what is the point in dealing with the hassles. However, give some notice and perhaps let us know what it would have required to stay in business Or sell it to another developer I myself would have paid 5 times the amount of the subscription just to keep it and not have to now find and learn somthing new. So far I am trying two different pieces of software Auctions Sage and Auction Tamer Auctions Sage does not support multiple user ID's so that wont work for me Auction Tamer does... but I the interface is a bit difficult to understand and I cannot get it to print out invoices for my sales It may be good for me but will take quite some time to figure out. So now I am going to give Blackthorne Pro a try and see what happens over the next few days as I try each and every one of them. Needles to say I am still using SOLD and manually entering my Auctions that have sold. so far even having to do that it is better than the two that I have tried so far. I will keep posting as any new information comes my way and would appreciate the same from any of the SOLD users that are on this board. Thanks |

Posted: Nov 25, 2006 13:39:25 OK, I'm stumped... the 'about' panel says I'm running Version 5.02 Build 162 but I can't update any of my auctions from eBay. I keep getting that DAMN 'Your Subscription Has Expired' panel. Any ideas ho to get rid of that? I would hope (and expect after paying my $$$ for the last many years) that Bill would give us at least a version that has the REGISTRATION CHECK removed. |

Posted: Nov 26, 2006 17:07:35 Hey RIP Seems that this forum is next to dead too, about the same as SOLD is right about now. I would not worry to much about your registration at this point. As there has not been any new news on this forum regarding SOLD I think that every SOLD user has been experimenting on their own as I have to find the best possible alternative. I have tried Auctions Sage eBay's Blackthorne and Auction Tamer which I now have officially begun to use as my Auction managment software. The support on Auction Sage and Tamer are really good. Blackthorne is good but more costly and will only support eBay.com If you sell on any of the global sites it is very limited to what it will do for you. and support well....it's eBay and they have more important things to do like figure out how to charge us more fees. Auction Tamer is doing everything that sold did for me and more as it supports almost every major Auction Site and allows for multiple ID's It has taken me about a month to figure most of it out and I am still learning something new every day but the support is second to none. That made a buyer out of me. Unfortunately SOLD is no more so as your name suggests RIP SOLD Good luck rkeinc |

Posted: Nov 26, 2006 22:56:57 Hi, I was under the impression that SOLD V would not enforce any subscription checks. Is this not the case any more? I haven't seen any sort of subscription prompts when using SOLD V. I'm using Build 05.02 Version 162 as well. |

Posted: Nov 27, 2006 21:38:46 There is "easy auction tools" from Australia, the software is not fully functional yet, I think is worth to give this guy a help ironing out the bugs. http://www.auctiontools.net/ thanks, |

Posted: Dec 10, 2006 10:59:19 Looks like I am getting the Subscription expired message too. I just click NO and can go on with my business, but there must be some way to disable it. I tried looking at files and part of the registry SOLD V is accessing, but I am stumped so far. |

Posted: Dec 12, 2006 09:38:38 This is not the most elegant way to handle the subscription prompt, but I was able to figure out a way to click "NO" on the prompt in an automated way. The freeware is called AutoIt v3. What the script does is waits until it sees the prompt about the subscription. When it does, it clicks No for you. It has to run all the time taking up CPU resources. If you're on a slow computer it may not work that well for you. The script you can run is this: $i = 0 Do WinWait("Timber Creek SOLD!","Your Subscription Ha") If Not WinActive("Timber Creek SOLD!","Your Subscription Ha") Then WinActivate("Timber Creek SOLD!","Your Subscription Ha") WinWaitActive("Timber Creek SOLD!","Your Subscription Ha") Send("n") Until $i = 2000 |
