I just had a computer crash, and did not have the latest version/build of SOLD V. My data was well backed up, but now I can't use it properly because the only SOLD version I had on disk is pretty old.

Can someone give me the latest version?

Thanks for your help.

Perhaps I should be more specific. I have only the full downloaded Sold V ver 5.2 Build 141. This means if I try to update my current auctions, I get an error and the update won't work. Also, and I'm not sure why this should be happening (though I did have to move temporarily to another computer) my emails aren't being sent.

Sales Orders and Purchase Orders still working OK, but until I get the latest version, I have to enter all sales and puchases manually.

Help!

If you do have the latest full version, you could perhaps give it to Sun (tekgems) to post on the TekGems FTP site.

HELP!

(Like all of you, I know that even the latest version will break as soon as eBay makes enough changes. And that will be it for all of us, I guess.)

I do have the last build #162 as a full file download. Let me know your email address and I'll send it.

Oh, thank you! Relief! Could you perhaps upload to Sun (tekgems), who would let me download it from his FTP site?

If that's OK with you, I'll ask Sun, and give you his email.

Rick -

If you prefer to send it directly, you can use this address: sold.out@sbcglobal.net .

I'm not sure how large an attachment I can get, but it's worth a try.

Thanks again for your help.

We are sending it now. The file size is about 24 Mb, so if you're on DSL it will take about four to five minutes to receive.

Rick -

Have not received it - are we indifferent time zones? We are in CST - it's now 12:07 PM here. What time zone are you in?

PS Address is sold.out [at] sbcglobal.net with a "." in "sold.out".

We are having to FTP it to our website. The file was too large to go via email. Give it until 1:30 PM eastern time then it will be available for you until 7:00 PM eastern time at
http://www.rickwolf.com/eBay/Sold162.exe
It is a 27 Mb file

Let us know when you have downloaded the file...

By the way since you asked about AuctionSage - I could suggest not worrying about trying to get SOLD up and running again, especially if you have the datafiles available to you. For listings we were able to convert over 1500 unique items in less than 20 minutes.
SOLD has now completely stopped working for us. I guess it's since we were at the end of our annual subscription anyway.

Any effort spent to learn AuctionSage will be well worht the effort.

I know you can run multiple user ID's but am not sure if you need a separate license for each or not. IF you do it's surely due to the change over to the eBay API.

For inventory management, running one of each item per auction we have found it to be dead on. If you run multiple quantites available, am not sure how it handles that.

All I can say from looking over the message boards for the last few years is that John seems to be very responsive to changes that need to be made. He has certainly responded to my questions quickly. In the past 5 or 6 weeks that we have been using the program we have asked some pretty stupid questions and they were all answered either by John or members in a calm and professional manner. I have NEVER found an instance of bad mouthing or bickering.

Good luck in whatever you choose.

Rick -

I have it - thanks.

There must be some sort of problem on the temporary computer I am using. It used to have SOLD on it some time back, and even though I removed the old SOLD and restarted, yours keeps showing "Build 141". Same thing happened with the one I got from Sun.

That tells me there's probably something odd happening with this computer's registry. I'll have to wait to install your SOLD until my new computer arrives.

Meantime, I'll bump along with my current version. But thanks again - it was kind of you to help.

I already know that the AS database is not open, wich means I can't link to their tables. Which means I'd have to do text exports every time I needed a custom report or whatever. But people do seem to like AS, so I'll look into it bit more. I'll stay with TurboLister just for for listings.

re: Multiple users ID's in Auction Sage

At this point, you need to run a separate instance of the software for each user name. And for that to work, you must close any other instance first. This is legal as long as they're all on the same computer.

Timbercreek is out of business.

I know, but the SOLD on my main computer still works fine. I still use it exclusively for sales orders.

I have a version here:

http://tekgems.com/dl/

Look for TCS

I am not sure what build it is.

Thanks for sharing. :)

If you don't mind, may I ask what programs do you currently use for your ebay business?
