I've been keeping SOLD open and updating my current auctions (yes, that still seems to work). Today I got one of those pop-up windows saying there was a new version and to click to download. I clicked, not much happened, I reopened SOLD and I didn't see any changes. Tried it again by clicking on Tools, check for new version and got the same notice of a new version. Did it AGAIN, but still haven't seen any improvement.

Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!

Mandy309.... Yes with the same results as you. At every update of CA it comes back.

If you go to IM and click on Edit Via eBay SYI, takes you to the new SYI page, you have to choose how you want to sell your item then it takes you to eBay's sign in page where you have to enter your user name and password. IT DOES NOT WORK!!

I went to timbercreeksoftware.com and clicked on update and clicked to download and got this:

This domain name expired on 08/24/2006 and is pending renewal or deletion.

WTF with the New Version poping up in SOLD????

Yes, I am seeing it too. Looks like stillwatercreek.com domain just expired. That used to host the UBB forum back when everyone was using AuctionTrakker.

What concerns me is just what is being installed on my computger when you click on download the ficticious update. It goes so fast that I can't/couldn't read it.

Nothing is being installed as far as I can tell.

Binkie...I did the same thing and got no results either. This really stinks!!!

How can they let their domain name expire? It seems like they've "left the building".

Mandy, I think you are correct. They have left the building without the courtesy of letting us know what was going on. So yes it more than stinks. I truely thought that Bill was more courtious and loyal to his followers.

this forum needs spell check :)

Ditto, got the update too and it was shooting blanks.

Yes, when he killed the forums, I guess that was the signal of bad times for sold.

It is/was a great program, you'd think he could sell it or license it instead of letting it die and become worthless.

Maybe he hit the lotto and doesn't need the money... whatever, he should have the decency to at least tell us if he is abandoning his work.

Ah, so I wasn't the only one who got the popup.

I didn't try to download it, though, because I don't really trust them right now and I was afraid - since I haven't paid for another year subscription yet - that the "update" would be a crippler.

Heh heh...I'm such a paranoid jerk.

I don't understand why nobody bothered to say anything to us. We've all be loyal customers, and I agree that they should have sold SOLD...or something. Maybe they don't want us to ask for refunds? I hope I'm wrong and they renew their domain name and fix everything up. Wonder what they're doing with their other software programs?

Posted: Aug 31, 2006 18:09:59

I'm really close to filing with my credit card for a refund. I renewed two weeks before the server problem.

blondie...I don't blame you! I'd be po'd too.
