Are there drivers supporting operating systems such as Win ME? Also my box came with TV Jukebox 2.0 application software which does not not allow for the TV screen "always on top" option which is a must if working on the PC while watching TV. Is there an upgrade software application with the enhanced features or a different application that is compatible with this TV box?

Posted: Sep 11, 2004 08:43:02

My box came with TV Jukebox 2.0. After installation when I initiate the TV application I get an error message "invalid serial number". During installation there was not a prompt to enter a serial number. Is the a place in the software where I can enter the supplied S/N after installation is complete?

Requirements:
* Microsoft Windows 2000/XP

http://tekgems.com/Products/et-12039-vid-super-digi20.htm

We are not aware of any Millenium Edition (ME) drivers.

Sorry don't know on that one. Included software is "trial" software even though a serial number comes with it.

Posted: Oct 5, 2004 20:53:54

Is there an updated patch for post-windows service pack 2 instalation? I tried to install xpspl_en_x860907 but windows won't let me. The tv jukebox software doesn't work, so I am presuming it is because of the sp2. Any help out there?

Posted: Oct 9, 2004 22:16:22

I just installed from the CD and ignored the main menu. I am now getting a message from TV Jukebox 2.0 that it's a trial version. What now? I have to buy more software to make the box work right?

Posted: Oct 23, 2004 11:57:54

I installed from the CD AND entered the serial number successfully. However I am still informed that the software is a trial version. Why would a company sell a piece of hardware and not include a full version of the software needed to run it?
I found their website: http://www.mmedia.com.tw/english/index_eng.htm but there is no way to register the software there or even purchase it. It seems that even if I WANTED to pay more, I still could not get this product to fully function. I suspect I am simply out the fifty bucks and I need to start over with a more reputable company.

Hi, if you purchased this item from TekGems, you are welcome to return it for a full-refund. The disclosure that this software is trial version is with the distributor, but our description is an earlier revision which did not have this disclosure. Get in touch with us by e-mail with your sales order number and we'll handle it from there. Thanks.

i have installed the software and drivers but everytimei start tv jukebox it says no video device found

Posted: Nov 22, 2004 06:57:57

if i understand you, there is no application available other than the trial version of jukebox. I personally have gotten winDVR to function with your box, but there is some problem with the audio. Please obtain a non-trial version of the jukebox and post it for download!

Posted: Nov 22, 2004 12:08:15

Non-trial version is not offered from us. That is called software piracy.

Hi, just one question, whenever i watch tv using the jukebox, after like 5 or 10 minutes, the sound would start to get choppy. It kinda goes like an echo and sounds really bad. To make it go away, i would have to hit the mute button twice and the sound would go back to normal. But the problem is recording, i can not stop it from happening. Is there a solution to this problem? Thank you.

Posted: Jan 17, 2005 20:44:23

The audio is nonexistent on some channels and extremely garbled on a few. My system works fine with other devices connected to "Line In". Is there a fix that can be provided? Is there some trick to getting this device to work?

Posted: Feb 3, 2005 07:24:01

I have the same identical problem with my sound as: Krasyballer2785(Posted: Nov 30,2004 12:16:12)
I am using A Pentium 4(3.2GHZ with hypertrend tech.) 1GB memory and a Geforce FX5200 with 128MB vidio ram. The soundcard is biult into the motherboard Intell's SoundMax digital audio

Hey, I REALLY hope someone is willing to do this for me. I've had this box for a while and I haven't used it in a while and I've misplaced the CD with the App/Drivers. I don't care at all about the App. Is there any possible way someone could get me the INFs, so I can use this thing (I use STOIK Capture - Free). I really need this ASAP. Thanks. -Eric

Hey guys - - - - I've got this card and TV Jukebox 2.0 - - however, apparently something is wrong with the drivers for it - possibly an sp2 thing? I'm looking for the drivers for this also - - - anyone know of anything? thanks!

Posted: Mar 15, 2005 09:44:26

hi, i managed to use InterVideo WinDVR 3 with my USB2.0 TV Tuner but, as jimlinn mentioned, i can't get the audio to work. is there any way i can get the audio to work or is there any other software, besides TV Jukebox 2.0, that i can use with the tv tuner? i lost my Jukebox 2.0 software's serial number, and can't use it anymore. thanks!

Posted: Mar 23, 2005 11:00:44

If anyone is still looking for the drivers and software, there is an updated version (well updated compared to the CD that i received), and it fixes the sound issue i mentioned earlier. The site is www.flybear.com, go to downloads, all drivers for ebay..., and then usb tv tuner box. It's about 27 mb in size.

Posted: Mar 23, 2005 13:09:20

I installed it as instructed. I cannot install the xpspl_en_x860907 because windows will not allow me. whenever i launch the program, i get a message that reads, "No IR controller found".

Posted: Mar 23, 2005 23:01:11

I have the same box, purchased on Ebay, its junk, the software crashes my P.C. There is a masive problem with the software it will not work with windows service pack 2. This thing is a sham, a promise in the dark, they prey on our wanting a super deal. I have 4 PC's and they are all diffrent and high perf'Still no TV" I'll try the software that is mentoned by Kballer but it's been a sham guys...

Thank you so much krazyballer2785! That worked. I have SP2 and everything works like a charm. Still for all you out there having problems...do what I'm doing and get one of these: http://www.leadtek.com/multimedia/winfast_pvr2000_1.html

Posted: Mar 28, 2005 15:02:18

i just got the super digital video usb2.0 tv box. i got the video to work but it is very poor quality and there is no sound at all no matter what i try. i have winxp with sp2 installed. i see the home web page for it but you can't get the version 3.0 software they are showing. also it will not let you registere it either. i have 512mb ram, 256 gforce video card, 2.4 ghz processor. can't get any sound.

Posted: Mar 31, 2005 06:51:00

I too, have recently purchased this tv box, however, the reception is absolutely horrible... I have hooked it up to the best antenna i could find in my house and it wont even pick up uhf channels. The antenna does support vhf, and uhf channels. Anyone else experience this problem, or know a solution?

Posted: Apr 7, 2005 17:00:02

okay, i posted a few posts up - I ended up sending the box back to the ebay company i got it from. . . I did manage to get software installed, and downloaded a 27mb file from another site, but i had to rip the drivers out of the installation pack because they wouldn't install via the installer. . . Turned out to be a big mess, and was totally not worth it.

My recommendation would be to go with a big name manufacturer for external tv boxes. nVidia, ATI, etc. you'll have better luck, to be sure!

Posted: Apr 12, 2005 20:43:19 · Edited by: Admin

I recently purchased this item from Ebay as most of you did. I noticed in a couple posts that some people have gotten this to work. I tried to go to the site krazyballer2785 suggested, but it is gone. Would anyone mind sending me the driver for sp2?

Oh, I'm running Windows XP (with service pack 2) and I keep getting the "No IR Controller Found" Error.

I also have another video capture card. It is a Pinnacle Systems product. Is there any way to watch tv from this in the way that I wanted to use the "Super Digital Video Dazzle Series" card?

Posted: Apr 13, 2005 13:39:34

the site is there, www.flybear.com

if u click from this message board its because there's a , after com and it wont work.

just follow the instructions i posted previously to dl the software. make sure you completely install software before plugging the tuner into ur pc.

Posted: Apr 14, 2005 07:48:00

has anyone been able to view and record video with other software besides the tv jukebox?

like ulead's software or pinnacle or even the basic amcap? I have been successful using only windows movie maker but i dont like the .wmv format and the tv jukebox records the mpg video fine, but the sound is clicking making it annoying to listen to.

Posted: Apr 17, 2005 16:05:49

Hi, i've a new USB 2.0 Box but to the "Jukebox"-Software was no serial in the Box or on the CD-cover. The seller doesn't answer my messages and i don't know how to get a serial. Is it possible to use another tv-software or can sb tell me please any key, so i can install it.

Posted: Apr 18, 2005 20:16:13

Mine works perfectly now. Thanks to all that helped me out.

Posted: Apr 19, 2005 01:17:22 · Edited by: Admin

TV Jukebox 2.0 SN:
NDT4-7858-3316-78cd-xxxx

This serial is case sensitive
"c" is "c" and not "C"

product is okay for what I paid for it. great signal w/ cable, don't use an antenna I don't think that there is enough power for it to work well. Sound has problems tho.

[edit - serial number not allowed sorry]

Hi all, I just thought I'll share some of the knowledge I accumulated while tweaking with this card:

When you record and get sound sync problems, try to change the recording preferences and instead of highly compressed MPEG1 record in some less compressed format that the software supports. This makes your videos larger but at least you can watch them and throw them away later.

If you want to backup and keep a digital version of your DVDs, Videos, or streaming TV programs, just use Windows Video Maker and record from AV (capture streaming video through your VCR for example), You get the best quality for acceptable size, and one more advantage is that you can even edit the .wmv video, much easier than editing an MPEG format. What's wrong with the .wmv format? Good Luck!

Follow up to my own posting:

I was able to locate a download file on www.flybear.com in the location specified above.

After looking at the documentation it appears that I have what I need.

The machine I was going to put it on is a Windows 2000 server so it won't install. I'll make it a Win-Pro or XP machine and try again.

I'll post my results here so stay tuned!

Thanks!

Posted: May 14, 2005 09:29:44

Well I got the software and got it installed.

The video is extremely choppy and no matter what I do I can't get any sound.

So: I'm going to send it back!

A prior posting recommended some other cards - I gues that you get what you pay for. This thing cost me $70 on e-bay and a "real" card may be double that.

Posted: May 14, 2005 14:12:08

Me, too, I got it off ebay. Installed drivers from flybear, finally got it to work, but NO AUDIO.

My machine tells me I am using a high-speed USB device on a low-speed USB port. Video is crappy. Is there something I can buy to change to a USB 2?

But I really want AUDIO. I know my speakers work fine. If anybody knows how to fix it, please tell me.

Posted: May 16, 2005 23:05:27

I have the USB2.0 TV Box and had problems installing and getting it up and running but after several attempts I some how stumbled on the correct USB drivers for audio and video the sound for this unit is crap but if anyone is still having problems I have a zip file of the needed USB 2801 drivers you can email me at woolf@theedge.ca and i can send you the needed file about 223KB zip

Posted: May 18, 2005 12:15:03

you have to go to control panel, select the usb audio and update driver. when it ask where to search for driver point it to c:\program files\emusb2.0\ the audio will update and work. the sound is still shitty thought. I hope the people on ebay that sell this crap die of a horror desease.

Posted: May 18, 2005 12:16:21

don't try and install this product w/o usb 2.0, usb 1.1 is tooo slow

Posted: May 31, 2005 18:06:54

What to do about "No IR controller found" message??

Posted: Jun 30, 2005 15:07:49

One more eBayer who just bought the super digital video dazzle series usb2.0 tv box. I get quite good reception with just a UHF loop antenna, video passable quality, but not a sound anywhere - either TV or off the VCR. I updated the sound driver as mentioned above, first to the EMUSB2.0 folder, then to the FLYBEAR site, no change. Device Manager says I have driver "eMPIA Tech., version 1.1.922.0 and a date of 9/22/04" but the TVJUKEBOX 2.0 program says (in settings, under SYSTEM) the USB AUDIO: N/A
At least I only paid $15 for mine, but would still like the audio to work!
thanks for any responses

Posted: Jun 30, 2005 18:17:50

I made a little progress. I installed Windows Media Format 9 Series Runtime files, and now I have sound - but it's pure crap - almost completely unintelligible ..
thanks for any responses

Posted: Jul 1, 2005 06:14:45

well, when I had no sound - I checked back and forth between AV and TV source frequently ... once I got the crappy sound, I forgot to check the AV source - finally did and it is good. Am thinking the lousy TV audio is due to signal strength, and think I am up and running.

Posted: Jul 23, 2005 17:32:07

Hey mine won't work at all! It keeps saying no IR controller found! What can I do? I have Windows XP service pack 2. It worked for a few days but crapped out on me yesterday. I feel like I need a driver reinstalled but I have no idea. Any suggestions?

Posted: Aug 1, 2005 01:25:13

Hi all,
I was somehow able to get my Audio to work with this device. I hope if you also follow this u might also get this thing to work.
The problem lies with microsoft installing its own USB audio drivers for this device. What we need to do is uninstall them and install the correct ones.
Plug in your USB TV tuner
Go to My Computer>right click>manage>Device manager>Sound and Video and game controllers>USB Audio>properties>update driver>Select "Don't Search I will choose install driver>navigate to Program files/EMUSB2.0 and select EMAUDIO.INF

I am also uploading that folder , just in case someone doesn't have it
http://files.filefront.com/EMUSB_2801/;3980423;;/fileinfo.html

Posted: Aug 12, 2005 10:42:11

Yes. I was advised to replace the USB cable with a good quality USB 2.0 compliant cable.

This did the trick.

The quality of the pictures is still very poor on the low numbered channels and some aren't even detected.

But, for what I paid, that's acceptable.

Luck.

Posted: Sep 1, 2005 17:49:46 · Edited by: Admin

samipo, the USB 2.0 is almost 50 times faster, the only thing you can do to fix it would be to replace your USB hub in your computer with a USB 2.0

I also have a question...

I am a 15 year old who saved up my money for 2 months to buy this... I got it and I get the message "No IR controller found". What does this mean. Please help me... it cost me $50!!!

Posted: Sep 12, 2005 22:09:11

Well, mine works alright - the audio kicks out whenever I change the screen resolution, but then I found a way to make it work fine. The main problem is that I'll be playing an XBox game on it, and then the screen will freeze. Game is still going on, but the screen freezes. I change the screen resolution from small back to full-screen and it's fine, but then it happens again after about five minutes. And when I exit the program, my system crashes and restarts itself. Any ideas?

Oh, and I'm running a P4 3.4 GHz 2 Gigs of RAM, and Windows XP with Service Pack 2.

To ALL:
You MUST purchase a USB2.0 cable with this unit, the one supplied is totally insufficient. Cheap suckers. I wound up doing exactly as they say, installing their SP1 with XP, even though I already had SP1 installed. I also used AV cables and am recording from a VCR using MPEG-4 with low compression and I have very good sound and video. Finally.

Posted: Sep 19, 2005 23:21:14

I have also bought a Super Digital Video USB 2.0 TV Capture Box everything ran fine until I unplugged my speakers and my laptop started squealing uncontrollable. I uninstalled all components and it kept going until I completely reinstalled windows xp then reinstalled Super Digital Video USB 2.0 TV Capture Box and jukebox 2.0 and had exactly the same problem. Can someone tell me what that’s all about?

Posted: Oct 26, 2005 18:24:54

The No IR Controller issue is probably because of a non-Microsoft Enhanced USB Controller driver. Go to your device manager, and open properties for the Enhanced USB Controller under USB Devices. Go to the Driver tab and update the driver. Tell it you will pick the specific driver and then pick the one in the list that says Standard or has the word (Microsoft) in parenthesis at the end. Totally uninstall and reinstall the USB software and drivers from scratch with the device unplugged. Reboot when it is done BEFORE connecting the tuner. After restart, go ahead and plug the tuner in and go through the prompts to finish installing after it detects the tuner.

Does anyone have any TV scheduling software that works with you USB 2.0 TV tuner? The software "TV Jukebox 2.0" that came with my unit does have scheduling capabilities, but it is really not what I am looking for. ATI has a software package that works with there TV cards call "Guide Plus". It is really nice TV scheduling software that allows you to download a "TV Guide" each week and then select the programs that you want to record. Has anyone had any luck using a software package like this with your non-ATI USB 2.0 TV Tuner box? Thanks!

Posted: Nov 22, 2005 17:50:38

install the program from:
c:\My_Fuckin_usb_tv_tuner_box\TV Jukebox 2

and after installation, to solve the serial number issue, insert the following key into registry:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1220945662-562591055-839522115-500\Software\TV Jukebox 2.0]
"CheckInstall"="1"
"sw_serial_number"="NDT409291862f31092f4"

if you want to install to windows 2003, import this key:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-486447360-3340614180-2184305934-500\Software\TV Jukebox 2.0]
"CheckInstall"="1"

I was also going to post another question - but figured out a solution as I was posing it. I was trying to get Roxio easy media creator 8 to capture from this device so I could capture a vhs tape so that I could eventually burn it to dvd. I have not been able to get this program and the freeware program "Video DVD Maker" to read anything other than fuzz from the device. I got Roxio to work by hooking the VCR up to the RCA jacks rather than the coax and setting it the software to use the "composite" input rather than the tuner. We'll see how that goes. Video DVD Maker doesn't have a composite option... but at least the money I paid for Roxio is paying off. Hopefully it makes it easy to get this stuff on DVD with decent quality.

My original post - I think bad language caused it to never show:
I am fascinated at this piece of you know what and how we all try to make it work. I have used it for a basic tv for 6 months on and off without much of a problem - however - I do have an answer to one person's question.

"everything ran fine until I unplugged my speakers and my laptop started squealing uncontrollable... Can someone tell me what that’s all about?" I have had the same exact problem on my laptop. It has been embarrassing in public places when my computer spontaneously starts squealing outloud. The software for some reason turns the microphone up to full blast even if you have it muted. What you end up hearing is feedback from your internal speaker(s). I haven't checked if the audio driver update has fixed this, but I did constantly make a habit of resetting the microphone setting after running the tv jukebox software.

OK, I have a different prob...I, too, got this thing off ebay, but ours came with TV Plus 3.0 Software. It's not the newest version, mind you, but it is legitimate I think. The prob I keep having is that I am using this setup to capture video from vhs tapes that I have recorded from an old RCA camera. As I record, my computer will randomly crash and give me an error message that I can't record due to a Macro Vision Copy Right Protection. Does anyone know how to bipass this? Thanx.

AnonymousYou are probably not picking up anything because the box is fubarred...same thing happened to us...we purchased 2 of these...one didn't work, the other did...nice, eh?

Can someone with the 3.0 drivers make them available for download?

Posted: Jan 16, 2006 18:20:58

Hmm. does anyone know about the pci version of this? I found the newer drivers on flybear and trust me, they look much more complete than what the cd has.
But, when i try to update driver and i point my computer to the location of the new drivers, windows won't install them. And im sure this is the right driver because it has the same inf file as the CD, just more additional files.
Does anyone know how to install it?

P.S. I have windows XP sp2

Posted: Jan 18, 2006 21:39:03

Ok. Forget the previous post. It decided to install today, and now i have crystal clear display but no audio because it couldn't find the driver for it, so it just says Multimedia Audio Controller with a yellow question mark. Let me know if the audio drivers are found.

NEW PROBLEM - My video clips every few seconds. I've changed settings, with no resolution. I just installed my Super Digital Video - USB 2.0 TV Box on my XP SP2 system. The audio is flawless. Anyone know how to resolve the video clipping issue?

Posted: Feb 3, 2006 14:51:01

Has anyone been able to get the Super USB 2.0 TV Box to work with windows xp media center edition? Whenever I try to set up or watch tv in media center it says that I don't have a tuner installed.

Posted: Feb 5, 2006 13:21:17

I cannot even get the box to turn on. It gets warm so I know there is power to it but the remote won't turn it on. I also have media edition and I get a similar error message.

Posted: Feb 13, 2006 21:12:49

I also got 'scammed' when I purchased this item on eBay.

Like Nick mine came with the HonestTech TV Plus 3.0 software, which isn't great but works in general.

I have had a few problems. The biggest one is that there is a constant static sound when I use either the s-video or composite input. The other significant problem I've had is that the device and software claim to be able to play FM radio, but when I choose this option there is no audio at all.

It has also been finicky about what software it works with. It works with the included TV plus software, Media Player Classic, and with Nero Vision and actually MSN messenger will let me use it as a webcam (not very practical, unless my msn buddies want to watch low quality tv in a tiny frame). VLC crashes when I try to capture with it, and other software either doesn't recognize it as an input device, crashes, or just shows a black or green screen.

Has anyone else had problems with static in the audio? I suspect it's just a hardware defect...

Posted: Feb 15, 2006 12:15:51

Wish I would have found this before I bought one on ebay - hehe.

Mine does work, though not that great, on XP (slightly choppy and looks like low signal picture from coax antenna). Get what you pay for.

It was already asked and answered, but wonder if anyone has had success getting it to work on Windows ME. I got the software to install through a backdoor approach, but the driver files aren't recognized. Are the XP drivers just too different from ME? Any workaround worth trying?

I too purchased the Dazzle Super Digital Video USB 2.0 TV capture box. It came with TV Plus 3.0 software. When I originally installed it, everything worked fine except there was no sound when playing back recorded video. I tried several things to solve the problem without success. I uninstalled the software & reinstalled it (several times) but now it says that the capture device can't be initialized. Does anyone have any information that would (or MIGHT) be helpfull?
Thanks,
wltyler
