ƒ pcmcia card for lap top need com 1 or 2

Hi earndale - I can only speak generally on this product as we have not tested this product yet. The chipset for this serial pcmcia card is Oxford CF950. You could perform some research on this chipset to reveal any of its specific features not mentioned in the manual.

Typically serial cards will be installed by default on COM5 and COM6. You should be able to adjust to COM1, COM2, COM3, or COM4 with some tweaking of the software and/or driver.

The alternative is to change your engine diagnosis program to use COM5 or COM6.

And your last option would be to redirect COM1 traffic to COM5 via a third-party software. But I would try tweaking with the included software and/or drivers first.

earndale Member	Posted: Nov 20, 2004 16:17:46 bought this pcmcia adapter to serial port(RS-232)cardbus. have a program to do engine dianoses but will only read com. 1 or 2 tried everything but still new card reads com 5 & 6. can i change this?
