Posted: Oct 20, 2003 03:21:30 Hi! I Bougt a Biostar Ideq 200N Barebone PC. It has an integrated IR-Transceiver. I can configure it in Bios (TXRX Hi,Lo, Duplex mode, Pins), but i'm not able to get it to work with Winlirc and my remotes. Has anyone done this? The Tranciever is directly connected to the mainboard... i think its something like the "simple RX-Device" The tutorial of Winlirc speaks of. I asked Biostar, but did not get any answer by now. Thx for any help! Andreas |

Posted: Oct 20, 2003 10:38:52 Hi Andreas, what technology is the transceiver? Is it irDA or Infrared? I'm pretty confident you could get it to work with a PDA or laptop with built-in irDA. But infrared from products such as Packard Bell Fast Media Remote was not designed to work with irDA. Some users have reported success with programs like OmniRemote on their Palm to emulate infrared signals - but we have not tested it on our end. |

Posted: Jan 4, 2005 20:20:20 I got an email from Biostar support: "The IR on the M7NBA is not standard, but you add a standard IR onto the IDEQ unit and remove the old IR that is on the M7NBA. The IR was designed to work with our IDEQ remote we are discontinuing this IR design. Our next generation IDEQ will have the standard IR's." |
