The IEEE-1394 Male to Male, 6 pin to 4 pin, 6 foot long, FireWire cable.Connect your Digital camcorder or other firewire device to your computer. FireWire is the new standard for high speed, high bandwidth data transfer applications for computers, digital camcorders, data storage products and many other consumer electronics devices. Firewire can connect up to 63 devices and has a transfer rate of up to 400Mbps, which should rise to 800 Mbps.

The firewire cable I recieved from TekGems was in every way the same product advertised at large chain stores such as Best Buy and CompUSA at a fraction of the cost. My initial checks showed comprable cables going for more than twice as much. Minus the fancy packaging (who needs it anyway, it's going to end up in the trash right off) it was the exact product I would have recieved from them. By personal choice I chose the 6 foot cable, and in hindsight this is the only negative point I can make. For typical use, a 10 foot would have been very much more practical but again, this is in no way the fault of anyone other than myself in choosing the shorter cable.
