Hi, try here:
http://tekgems.com/dl/la-tv01.zip
By the way, since we do not have a record of a sale from you I hope are not downloading the incorrect files. Just because the product looks the same does not necessarily mean the software you download will be compatible with your hardware.

I have an HP XW5000 2.4 Ghz. 512 Meg Ram, Windows XP Pro
I have successfully installed the card and the software on the CD. When I activate the program it will show me a window of a TV screen and will receive television channels fine, but for only a few seconds. I then get a blue screen, saying fatal error and my computer would locks up. I have had this “Easy TV Capture” card in a different computer running Windows XP Pro and it worked just perfectly. When I look at the card in device manager it shows no conflict the driver. Can you help me in finding an answer to this problem? I have downloaded the software from this web site and I will reinstall the TV card using the downloaded software. If that works I will light you know. I wanted to let you know the problem in the interim to see if you might have a better answer.
The download is the same as what is on my CD.
Do you have Win DVR 3? Might that help with my problem?
Thanks,
Tom

If you are getting a blue screen with fatal error, you might try uninstalling your software installation and re-install in the Windows safe mode. It would also help if you have the exact text on blue screen of death screen (BSOD). BSOD's are almost always either hardware or driver related. Maximum PC had a decent article in the September 2006 issue on this but their web site is terrible for archived material. The memory dump is not the most important piece of info on the screen. To stop automatic reboots click My Computer, select Properties, select the Advanced Tab, navigate to Startup and Recovery and click the Settings button. Under System Failure, uncheck the option labeled Automatically Restart. You can then read the screen at leisure. You need to read the Error near the top. Sometimes, if there is a driver problem, it will be noted lower down.

I use this card under Slackware 11. Here's my /etc/modprobe.conf:
alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0 bttv
options bttv pll=1 radio=0 bttv_verbose=1 card=13 tuner=2
Enjoy!

That's my entire /etc/modprobe.conf, with the comments removed. If you have other info in your modprobe.conf, just add those lines at the end of the file. These links may be useful to you: http://tldp.org/HOWTO/BTTV/index.html - http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/search.php?searchid=1187225

driverguide.com has a vista compatible driver for the 7130 chipset. I am still waiting my card to be shipped (from here) to test this out. Once I have my card up and running I will post further information.

The drivers included with the device work perfectly with Vista (I was honestly amazed). The drivers from driverguide.com is the same version as those provided with the cd.

my card came packaged with windvr 2. all the channels work fine except for the channels are only on half the screen and the other half is black with some static. i upgraded to windvr 3 and everythign is working fine, except for the remote no longer works. is there some way i can either fix windvr 2 so that it displays the channels or get windvr 3 to work with my remote?
this is what the tv looks like in windvr 2

The drivers are not compatible with windows 2000 or xp, everybody always gets the blue of death error (BSOD) under these OS's. Therefore, I am assumimg that it is also not compatible with vista.

First off, the software that this comes with is terrible, no matter how many times I re-installed I would often get a bsod. Now I use Christv, it's amazing, awesome picture clairity with dscaler.
Has anyone got this to work on Linux? I'm using kubuntu 7.04. This specific model isn't supported by the kernel, but i'm sure that there are similar saa7130 cards that have drivers that would work.
..and scott, your not using this card because your using the bttv driver, which is for a different chipset from the saa7130. I guess if I wanted to use this in linux I shouldn't have gone so cheap :P

I have been using this product for a few weeks now, I use WinDVR 3 on Vista. The drivers that come on the disk work fine on Vista but the remote control does not work.
Vista does say that they drivers are not supported but if you tell it to ignore that fact, you can still get the channels working. Remember to auto scan to get the channels in WinDVR.
nevermind1534, your assumptions are made through lack of experience obviously.
Mike, yes WinDVR 2 ... s.
amari, check that your volume is turned up and your line out from the card is plugged into your line in on your sound card. Also make sure Line-in on sound card volume is turned up. That should solve your problem.

I am having a problem. I am using windows xp Media Center 2005. I am using the WinDvr 3. When I record it only records the video no audio. I have checked my line out and line in volume to my sound card all ok. I have check my device settings and it is working properly and has no conflicts in my resources. How can I get my audio? Incidently is there a way to use this through WIndows Media Center? When I click on TV settings is says "Please check your device to make sure it is installed or the device is malfunctioning". The device as stated above is working fine and installed properly and updated as best as possible for the hardwar? Please someone help this has been baffiling me for two months? And can you use this card to view my video files from my computer on my tv?

I've been using my TV tuner card for 2 years now. I had several device malfunctions before. What I did was clean the card. I use a quick drying alcohol (lacquer thinner). I open the tuner cover (metal plate) then put some alcohol. I also used it on the other parts. Then let it dry for a while. I also put some alcohol on the PCI's teeth (connector to board).

My concern is regarding your Easy TV Capture product, which I recently perchased. It works great except when I close the program or try to record, at which point it causes my system to crash. I get the following error:
Error signature

C:\DOCUME~1\Archie\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER5c5d.dir00\sysdata.xml
The following have failed:
- updating Windows
- trying another OS (Windows XP Pro, Win 200 Pro)
-updating BIOS
-reinstalling driver and application software
Can you help me!
Thx.

I bought a TV tuner with the Philips 7130 IC chipset and I am using a Windows XP Pro 64bit system. The problem is that when I try to install the driver for the TV card it says it is not compatible with a 64bit system. Where can I download a driver that will work?
Thank you!
