Installation Instructions

To connect the 3Com dongle to the PC card, gently squeeze the clamps on the sides of the larger end of the dongle and carefully push it in to the PC card. (The blue lettering on the dongle should be facing up.) Plug one end of the cable into the 3-Com dongle.

WARNING: Never use a telephone cord to replace this cable. A telephone cord will not work and may damage the electrical contacts of your network connector.

Now, plug the network cable into the wall outlet. It does not matter which end. For the built in Ethernet 3com dongles, you will obviously need to plug the free end to plug into the wall outlet. Always treat your network cable with care. Pinching it, bending it tightly, continually walking on it or rolling over it will permanently damage the cable. Once the cable is connected, turn on or reboot your computer. If one exists, the LEDs on the 3-Com dongle will glow green. Without a green link light, you will not be able to communicate with the network.

If you do not get a link light, first unplug and replug all network cables, both into the wall and into your PC.
